Hello to all the StockCharts.com Subscribers!

Hello Stockchart Subcribers!
My name is Martin Pring and I’m very excited to be joining the team at StockCharts.com! For those of you who may not be familiar with my work, I have been providing research to the international investment community since 1968. My professional analysis career was launched with the publishing of the book Technical Analysis Explained (now in its 5th edition), as well as an in-depth monthly technical letter called the InterMarket Review. I was recently privileged to receive by my peers, the Market Technicians Association “Lifetime Achievement Award” for which I remain very grateful.
As a principal of Pring Turner Capital Group, a conservative portfolio management firm, I am involved with the strategy of our separately managed accounts as well as the Pring Turner Business Cycle ETF (DBIZ). The firm recently authored Investing in the Second Lost Decade, which outlined the challenge of investing in a secular bear market for equities and offered solutions.
My mission with StockCharts is to publish a weekly letter, which we are calling Martin Pring’s Market Roundup (PMR). The PMR will principally cover US equities and credit markets, the dollar index, gold and commodity indexes. Other markets will be covered when the attention arises. The outlook for the commentary will be short-term in nature, but occasionally I’ll be using some longer-term indicators to provide you a more in-depth perspective. Every PMR will consist of a written report, but twice a month we’ll also include an animated audio/ video movie of the same material, which is a great illustrative tool!
Chip Anderson and the StockCharts programmers have been busy adopting several of my private indicators into StockCharts' system. I’ll be using them from time-to-time in the PMR and, since they are now on the StockCharts system, that means that you too will be able to plot them between issues! The Pring tickers begin with the suffix "!PR" - a complete list can be found here. As they are introduced in the PMR, we will post an explanatory page on the site so you can learn about their strengths and weaknesses.
My Know Sure Thing (KST) and Special K indicators are now also available on the StockCharts platform and I'll be using them extensively in my upcoming reports. The KST is very similar to the stochastic but differs in that it uses different fixed parameters for short-term (daily), intermediate and primary trends. The Special K combines the momentum from the three KSTs into one indicator that peaks and troughs the vast majority of the time with the primary trend turning points of the price it’s measuring. The trick is to then determine when the Special K itself has reversed direction. You can learn more about the KST by clicking here and the Special K by clicking here.
I'm looking forward to all of the new opportunities that this change brings and hope that my work will help everyone here with their investments.
Good Luck and Good Charting,
Martin Pring
